Tuesday is ladies’ day at the River Falls Golf Club!

We have two great league options for players of all capability and availability. The fun shotgun league is a traditional golf league played as a shotgun start, while the recreational league is a fun and creative approach to league. Details are below!

Interested Teams & Signup:

If you would like to join the Tuesday ladies league, please respond to riverfallsgolfclub@gmail.com with which league you would like to join (the recreational or the shotgun league) along with the names of your primary two players for shotgun league, or just yourself or yourself and your paying partners for the recreational league, along with their emails. We will confirm receipt and then include you on future league communication.

For the shotgun league, we will take committed teams on a first come basis until we fill the 24 total team spots. We will announce when the league is filled and will take a waiting list afterward. We do not anticipate capping the player numbers in the recreational league.

The River Falls Golf Club will run the shotgun league and Brenda Simone and Colleen Sowa will return to continue running the recreational league that they have developed a great following for.

All committed teams to both leagues will be invited to a mandatory league kickoff meeting (for both leagues) is on Tuesday 4-16-24 @ 6:00PM *please note this time has changed from it's original date, please update your calendar* at the River Falls Golf Club. At this meeting we will collect league dues (in full), review the league approach and season plan, and will field any questions from the league teams/players.

League Season:

Shotgun League:

League will be 17 weeks in total, starting with a prelim day on May 7th and playing through the championship finals week of August 27th. If the weather permits, we will have a few impromptu weeks of golf before the May 7th league start which teams or players can play for the same rate as a league night. League will be played as a shotgun starting at 6:00PM and will be capped at 24 teams/48 players.

Recreational League:

Recreational league will be played from May 21st through August 13th, with an option to continue through August. League will be played by making tee times between 10:30AM and 3:45PM.

Teams:

Shotgun League:

Two players compete for each team. Each team can have multiple subs play for them and the team is responsible to secure a sub if they are unable to play for a week. Expectation is that we have 100% attendance as that makes the league play more competitive and enjoyable.

Recreational League:

League is played as an individual play format but with the players of your choice, and with rotating games and goals on a weekly basis. You can choose to play with the same group on a weekly basis or can rotate and change through the season. If you are unable to play a week, there is no need to find a sub, the league is played on a week-to-week basis.

League Fees and Greens Fees:

Greens fees are $31 per week for cart and green. There is no walking rate for league. If you have a membership, it will cover your greens and cart fees. Membership rates can be seen on our website.

For an additional $10, league players can play an extra 9 before or after league depending on timing.

Shotgun League:

League fees are $100/team for the year, with all funds going towards weekly prizes and year end payouts. Weekly prizes to be awarded for low net, long drive, closest to the pin, and a bullseye game on each half. We may also have an opt in game each week that players can choose to participate in. There will also be a payout for overall champions top teams.

Recreational League:

League fees are $25 per person for the year, with all funds going towards weekly prizes.

League Approach:

Shotgun League:

League will be flighted into groups (divisions), with regular season play consisting of playing the teams in your division. At end of regular season, we will have a playoff with division leaders competing for the overall championship.

We will rely on golf league software for the weekly scoring approach and for keeping and generating league handicaps which are utilized to even the scoring field. Players will be expected to keep score on a mobile device through the software interface or enter the scores on their mobile device after the round. The electronic scoring will be visible and live during play, and league standings will be visible in the software at all times.

Recreational League:

League format will match that of past with rotating games weekly and prizes awarded weekly.
